Biography Originally from Beckley, West Virginia, Steven Burnett holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Marshall University, and a Master of Music in Conducting from the University of Florida. Mr. Burnett is also a composer and arranger, and his music has been featured by instrumental and choral ensembles at universities, theatres, public schools and churches throughout the world. He is currently represented in the catalogues of Carl Fischer, Hal Leonard/Walton Music, Hinshaw Music, Colla Voce Music, Santa Barbara Music Publishing and Jalen Publishing. Mr. Burnett has served in various capacities in the world of musical theatre, including music director, recording producer, actor, singer, tour director and puppeteer. As a scriptwriter, he has received national accolades for his works for the stage and for the air. He is also a trained stage combatant and has certified with the Society of American Fight Directors. Steven is the former Director of Bands at Tolsia High School in Glenhayes, West Virginia. He is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Phi Kappa Phi, Pi Kappa Lambda, Kappa Kappa Psi (Honorary), Alpha Psi Omega, the American Choral Directors Association, and Tri-M, and is listed in WHO'S WHO AMONG AMERICA'S HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS. He is married to the actress, Michèle Goodson-Burnett. |
